CHARITY

“Responding to the Cry of Help Regardless of Ethnicity, Language and Religion”

Tzu Chi’s charity work is inspired by great love to provide material and spiritual relief to anyone in need, regardless of nationality, language and religion. In 1993, Tzu Chi volunteers raised funds to help cover medical costs of the needy at Pukekohe Hospital, which marked the beginning of the Charity Mission in New Zealand. Since then, Tzu Chi has provided financial and material aid, welfare organisation support and disaster relief.

Tzu Chi’s philosophy of compassion relief is a continuous process, only stopping when the recipients are able to stand on their own feet; urging the rich to help the poor and vivify the poor to the joy of giving.
