Our Missions

Charity

Charity is the Foundation of Tzu Chi's Mission, aiming to provide support, such as supplies and direct financial assistant, to people in need. Intending to transform the feeling of despair to hope and empowerment, also bringing out the good in people through the happiness they discover when helping others.

Medicine

The Mission of Medicine aims to provide medical care to those who lacks the means to pay. Tzu Chi currently have a network of hospitals, mobile units, doctors, medical professionals and volunteers offering free healthcare; safeguarding life and health with love.

Education

Tzu Chi has establish a comprehensive and complete education system, currently with schools, colleges, and universities worldwide. Their shared objective is to deliver superior education, and  nurturing talents who would serve the society with selfless love.

Humanist Culture

The Mission of Humanity covers literary, audio and visual works which aim to exemplify the spirit of great love among people. Founded on Buddhist philosophy, we advocate the view that as individuals, we should aspire to be moral, self-aware, and willing to act for the benefit of others.

International
​Relief

Tzu Chi is accredited by the United Nations and mobilises to provide international ​disaster relief. Tzu Chi responses to disasters immediately with emergency necessities such as, food, clothing and medical supplies. Additionally, we provide long-term support, including re-building community, school and more.

Bone Marrow Donor Registry

The Buddhist Tzu Chi Stem Cells Centre facilitates the process of finding a genetic match for those who require marrow by managing a Bone Marrow Donor Registry. Donating bone marrow could save lives without harming the donor and Tzu Chi encourages people to register. The centre also has an ongoing stem cell research along with gene therapy.

Environmental Protection

​Tzu Chi acts on the premise that we can protect the environment by the choices we make and our behavior as individuals. We actively encourage waste reduction, recycling, a healthy diet consisting more vegetables and fruits but less meat. The simpler way of lifestyle could reduce our carbon footprint and then we could live in harmony with Mother Earth.

Community
​Volunteers

​Putting compassion into action is at the heart of Tzu Chi’s mission. We have a global community of volunteers selflessly sharing their time, applying their energy, and offering their individual capacity for the benefit of others.  With their sincerity and love, volunteers make all our charity, medical, educational, international relief, and environmental protection programs possible.
