Educational Recycling Station
New Zealand is a beautiful country. However, Auckland alone, we send 120 tonnes of waste directly into landfill every year, of which 70% are actually recyclable.
Tzu Chi New Zealand’s involved in environmental protection takes many forms, from tree planting, beach and park cleanup, and recycling of old electrical appliances to the use of enzyme water as a substitute of chemical cleaning agents.
Tzu Chi’s Recycling Education Centre was erected in 2012. We support the New Zealand government’s recycling initiatives by recycling things that are currently not collected by the council. By promoting 5Rs: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle, we wish to protect our Mother Earth by stop the creation of the rubbish.
