The Tzu Chi Financial Assistance Scholarship was established in the second year following Tzu Chi first set foot in Christchurch to assist the survivors of the earthquake in 2011.
As part of the long term aid plan, the scholarship is offered to students from primary to secondary schools in areas of Auckland and Christchurch since 2014. Over the years, more than 40 schools have participated in the scholarship programme and more than 300 students have been awarded the scholarship.
